The Magic Wall has been enhancing the visitor experience at the Museum of Fine Arts since 2018. With an impressive size of 14 meters wide and 1.2 meters high, it is the largest interactive museum display in Europe. Built from 21 high-resolution 55-inch screens, this digital installation has played a key role in presenting highlights from the museum’s world-class collection.

👉 You can read more about the original installation in our detailed Magic Wall case study here.

In 2025, the museum’s communications team partnered with our company to showcase the latest Magic Wall features and develop a refreshed, future-proof digital experience. This collaboration resulted in newly designed content that combines interactive technology, cultural storytelling, and visitor-centered design

Since November 2025, the updated Magic Wall has been available to visitors in Hungarian and English, making the experience accessible to both local and international audiences.

A 16.8 m² Interactive Museum Experience in Seven Sections

Covering a total of 16.8 square meters, the renewed Magic Wall offers a rich, intuitive, and engaging way to explore the museum. The interface is divided into seven interactive sections, each designed to support orientation, discovery, and learning.

Interactive Museum Map

Visitors can explore a detailed interactive map of the Museum of Fine Arts, including all five floors of the building. Each room features essential information, photographs of the space, and highlights of key artworks, helping visitors easily navigate the museum.

Curated Visitor Routes and Museum Walks

The Museum of Fine Arts offers themed 20–45 minute visitor routes that guide guests through 5–9 selected artworks. These curated walks are now available directly on the Magic Wall and can be downloaded via QR code, enabling seamless, self-guided exploration.

Digital Artwork Presentation

At the center of the Magic Wall is a 6-meter-wide digital surface showcasing the museum’s most important artworks. Visitors can view high-quality images, read detailed descriptions, search by theme, and locate each artwork within the museum.

Museum Programs and Events

The Magic Wall provides up-to-date information on current museum programs and events through a visually engaging, poster-style interface. Visitors can scroll through ongoing and upcoming activities during their visit.

Permanent Pass Information

A dedicated section presents clear information about the museum’s permanent passes, helping visitors choose the ticket option that best suits their needs. Content is available in both Hungarian and English.

Temporary Exhibitions

Information about temporary exhibitions is displayed in a rotating poster format, ensuring visitors are always aware of the museum’s latest exhibitions and special shows.

History of the Museum Building

This section highlights the history of the iconic Museum of Fine Arts building, which opened in 1906. In addition to informative text, visitors can browse a gallery of historical photographs, offering insight into the building’s architectural heritage.

Enhancing Museum Experiences Through Interactive Technology

The renewed Magic Wall demonstrates how interactive museum technology can transform visitor engagement. By combining large-scale digital displays, intuitive navigation, and rich cultural content, the Magic Wall supports deeper exploration and a more memorable museum experience.
