Forestry professionals shared their experiences with the leaders of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Rome at the end of July, where the Magic Wall digital video display helped to facilitate innovative discussions.
The aim of the 9th World Forestry Week (WFW) was to showcase the contribution of young professionals in the forestry sector. In the event called "Connecting forestry minds: youth and leaders dialogue", young professionals presented their research and the results of the first Forestry Youth Assembly organised by the World Food Forum (WFW) Global Youth Action.
Their work was presented interactively using the popular digital video display, the Magic Wall by Back and Rosta. In response to a request from the UN Food and Agriculture Organization, our company rented out its most popular, mobile and easy-to-apply interactive video wall, the Mini Magic Wall, from 22 to 26 July in the capital of Italy.
Set up on a stand, the display, consisting of just one 86-inch monitor with rolling wheels for continuous mobility, has successfully served the work of dozens of UN staff at the FAO’s headquarters in Rome. According to Italian reports, our two meter wide display -- with its touchscreen and attention-grabbing visuals -- has made an excellent contribution to the success of this prestigious forum in this important professional environment.
Between the young forestry researchers and the more experienced leaders of the programme, our innovative digital solutions - such as stunning graphics, large screen motions, 3D and other video applications, and even playful quizzes - were a great way to facilitate between the parties. All this, despite the generational differences, made for a more successful exchange of ideas between participants. In addition, the Magic Wall digital display was a stimulus for the presentation of new technologies, which are also important in the forestry sector.
The one-week event was attended by, among others, FAO Deputy Director-General Maurizio Martina and Zhimin Wu, Director of FAO's Forestry Division, who both stressed their openness to new generation technical innovations and the results of young researchers, and their support for integrating records from new research into the strategy of the organisation.
The 9th World Forestry Week also included a number of other events and exhibitions. The Magic Wall, which continues to be popular for longer and shorter term rentals, was also a great way to promote the programmes and create visual highlights of the exhibitions. The July event in Rome proved that, in addition to its long-standing presence in cultural institutions -- more than 450 museums around the world -- our digital interactive display can also be used successfully in other types of professional and educational forums.
